During the two-day Power BI Advanced course, you'll not only get plenty of practice but also work with various real-world examples. This way, after completing the course, you'll be able to utilize the advanced features of Power BI, such as: • Understanding and applying the DAX language for complex calculations • Grasping context in DAX • Setting up a good data model and creating a date table • Tables for measures • The CALCULATE function: DAX's Swiss army knife • Iterator functions (SUMX, COUNTX, AVERAGEX) • Using passive (inactive) relationships • Using variables in DAX • Time Intelligence functions • Using parameters in DAX • Creating dynamic titles with DAX • Targets vs. Actuals • Cumulative Columns (running totals) • Using Bookmarks for more beautiful reports • Tooltips & Drill-through options

Course Content

The Power BI Advanced DAX training is a hands-on, two-day course. This training is perfect for advanced Power BI users and builds upon the Power BI Basic training. We'll dive deeper into using Power BI Desktop and the DAX formula language. We will specifically focus on the correct model design and choices between column calculations or measures. DAX is a formula language that allows you to perform various calculations with your data in Microsoft Power BI. The language is similar to, and sometimes even identical to, Excel formulas. But with DAX, even more is possible, and its use is a bit more complex. Working with DAX functions is taken to a higher level, and we will further develop the additional visualizations during the training.
